New SEC Disclosure Standards for CC

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission yesterday voted to provide public companies with interpretive guidance on existing SEC disclosure requirements as they apply to business or legal developments relating to the issue of climate change. While it become increasingly unlikely that the Senate will act on climate change legislation this year, the Executive Branch continues to use all of the mechanisms within its ambit to address the issue.
